A good steering wheel knob did the trick for me.
Before I added the knob I was doing the "white knuckle" with both hands and still fighting the wheel, now I can use one hand easily and hold a coffe cup in the other. I picked up the knob for about $10 at a 4WD truck shop. It says irrigation on it and is made of aluminum and steel. It feels like it's got a bearing in it.
