Three years ago we bought our farm - 75 acres with 50 in pasture/hay. I already had two older JDs, a 420 and 1010. I found out quick I needed more tractor. This spring I bought a 1975 JD 2030 diesel. It has 60 hp, power steering(easy on 50+ year old arms), independent PTO, and will do everything I need. I have about $7000 in it. My other two tractors didn't cost near this much combined, but you get what you pay for. I stayed with JD because of dealer support - but it ain't cheap.
