Well, i'd put an advertisement in the local newspaper, or in Craigs list, tell folks just what you said here, but offer to include your customer base, the main areas you work in, and anything the buyer should know. If anybody answers the ad, you can talk it out with them about price, etc. there are a few young fellers out there who are interested in making money. We have 3 guys in our Fire company who have made the lawn maintenance/mowing work for them and have succesful businesses. And they started out just like you did. I also think you should inform your customers about quitting, so they can make other arrangements. And, if you do get somebody to take over, take him along and introduce him to your customers, so they won't get mad at you. And then, it'll be up to the new man to make it work.
