I have a 1965 D1300 4x4 1-ton former logging truck with 10,000# winch and utility box. 392 engine & 5-speed. One tough truck.
A few years ago I bought an original 1971 model 1110 1/2 ton farm pickup for $600. 345 & 4-speed. I installed power steering and overhauled the brakes, and added a Pertronix electronic ignition setup in the distributor. Pep, power, and fuel economy increased by an estimated 20%. What a difference.
