Thanks for the input mEL. I talked to someone at the company that manufactured the filter and he explained the differential pressure to me. The return hose on my tractor leads to a manifold and then the pump where it is recirculated or returned to the sump. So I presume that is where the backpressure comes from. The new filter hoses/filter openings far exceed the size of the original (bent/dented) steel tubing. The pump is rated at only 9gpm max. Thanks
