Adam, when the over the road trucks aluminum gets dirty and dingy, they go to an auto parts place and get an acid type cleaner. It takes it down to bare metal. Then to make it mirror bright, buff it with jewelers rouge on a muslin or felt buffing wheel as kimk said below. Hints: Don't wear your good clothing while buffing and wear a painters mask over your nose. It's kinda referred to as a dirty job. You might want to buy a kit of the different buffing compounds with emery cake, red rouge, white rouge and tripoli for the various cutting abilities. I think Sears might still carry it. L8R----Fred
