Ah but ya could not get the 427 in one of them ya could get the S/CJ 428 Now in a small number of Mustang and Cougar XR7 you could get a 427 signal four bbl with a C6 auto but no 4 speed . How do i know this well i worked for a large Ford dealer and we were involved in the Ford Drag Club and my job there was the head performance mechanic and i only worked on the performance cars and i also did the big truck work when needed . I did not do wind whistles water leaks ft end alignments or pre deliver New cars unless they were the Mustangs and Torino's (sp) and we sold a ton of them along with the Shelbys . The dealership ran two cars both had the S/CJ 428 with drag pak. both were 4 gears As i remember we had over 175 members in the club that were active.
