My 67 GTO convert was pretty cool. A real Ram Air 400, 4 speed. It would post 13's with street tires any day of the week and drop into the 12's with slicks. 11mpg was considered good mileage with it, and it got around 3 when I drag raced it. Extremely hard on rear tires...but it sure was fun to drive.
I wish I hadn't ever let it go. But a kid came along and offered me more than I thought it was worth, and I was going back to college, where I wouldn't have been able to afford to drive it much. So I sold it.
In the shape I sold it in 1972, it would probably sell for $30K or more now. Oh well!
