Like any old crawler, condition is everything. HD16s were made for almost 30 years. The old ACs with Detroits are great machines but the HD16 has the four-stroke (Buda engine,I think). 844 cubic inches is going to use fuel. I have an HD6 with the 344 Buda, an it's not too bad. Great engine, but parts are very expensive. You also have to ask yourself if you can stand using the hand clutch.
If I was going to buy an older AC, I'd rather have one with the Detroit. Parts are much easier to find and cheaper.
