Joe first of all look at the top of this page where you see "another discussion forum" in the box. Highlight the arrow and you will find the Farmall board. With the valve cover off and with the #1 cylinder on compression top dead center (make sure you aren't 180 degrees out!) note the position of the rotor. Then turn the distributor so the points are just opening at this point. The distributor cap post that lines up with the rotor will be #1 followed by #3, #4, and #2. in a clockwise manner on the distributor cap. You might have installed it and the rotor is not in the approximate 2 o'clock position from factory installation. Report back with your findings on the Farmall board and welcome aboard!
