My Land Pride RCR 2572 is 12 years old and I've used it extensivly for roadside cutting. Cutting along old fencelines, cutting grass and swamp growth up to 5' tall. I've cut a lot of brush with it,too. Replaced the blades once only because I hit an old stump down in the grass and it bent one blade. I thought the price for the two blades was reasonable. 600 ft lbs of torque required for the blade retention bolt nuts. It's too big a mower for an Allis WD but I now use a 62 pto hp tractor and that does the trick. It works fine, cuts good. I use an angle grinder to "sharpen" the blades but all I really do is knock off the spots that have been blunted badly by rocks. The blades will take on a jagged front edge real soon and I think that makes them cut all the better. I am looking at a John Deere 709 though. Really well built.
