Keep your valves and lines in excellent shape and also get some schooling on how to fill as you describe, many gas company's will come fill up as often as needed and these men are usually professionals, LP tractors have many advantages but for a beginners tractor I would be very cautious and wear gloves when opening valves, I nearly lost a finger last summer trying to start an unknown tractor for a neighbor, luckily I had a nice pair of leather gloves on, (trying to avoid a handful of fresh bird doo) and still felt a very cold blast on my hand, Just know what you are doing and be safe, as a kid I worked with an old man who chained smoked while baling hay with a LP JD and never once had an caught anything on fire.
