The trick is to have some success, and still be safe. The 460 utility is a very stable tractor, but they CAN be upset. Don't ever hitch to anything but the drawbar. If you have a 2pt "Fast Hitch" or a 3pt hitch, keep it LOW, and remember that they are NOT made to yank on! Since you're a newcomer to tractors, go slow and easy. Over-extending the capabilities of the tractor-and-operator system can lead to trouble. There isn't much time to react when a tractor decides to stand up on its rear wheels, and you'd better react in the correct manner. Second chances may not be a possibility. I've had almost 50 years of tractor experience, but that doesn't mean I'm complacent. Safety, including a stronger chain than you need, and keeping everyone else away from the area, must be a priority. I sometimes use pull up small stuff with my Super M, but it's important to remember what someone else said on one of these forums a few months back: "Tractors are made to pull stuff that will move!" Be careful! On another theme, excellent choice in your first tractor! You'll have a lot of fun, and find more uses for it than you imagined!
