I'm from southern Ohio and we would occasionally find a snake in a bale, but don't recall any scary situations with them. But I do recall that if ever we come across a bumblebee nest in the ground in a clover field, they might as well shut off that Wisconsin motor on that baler (and you know how hard they were to start after their warmed up) cause me and that ornery cousin of mine and a dog named Nig would fight till there weren't no fight left in them. I can recall running from a swarm and hearing ol' Nig running right along side of me yelping as one of them stung him and me raking them out of my hair at the same time. Seems like they always headed for your hair. Good thing us boys couldn't grow a beard. Another thing was you would occasionally bale up a field mouse and I almost had to eat one for putting it down cousin Dick's shirt. And then theres the time that the old H tickled a hornet's nest in a tree as I was closin the gate. The guy driving, (Jack McCray), his face looked like a monster when they got through with him. I only got popped once, after I stopped laughing and on his advise to run. If Bubba says he can't fast dance, he ain't never had a swarm of hornets after him. You ever done any dancing? L8R----Fred
