DHunter covered it very well. I just want to add that crawfish, and alligator, are also major industries. To a lesser extent catfish and tilapia. While I'm on a roll, oysters, shrimp, and crabs. A lot of the crab meat eaten along the east coast comes from here. Some citrus between New Orleans and the mouth of the river. Timber is also a big industry. Come pass a good time! Dave
