However, if you live out on the prairies (like I do in southern MN) you get drifting problems. Anytime someone sneezes, the trench you plowed just fills right back in. Plow it again, only deeper now... Fills in with the next breeze. Plow it again, only deeper... Well, at some point, the field 300 feet away is almost bare, but your driveway has 10 feet high of snow on each side, and it will be filled in by nightfall...

That is why snow blowers are real popular around here. I've done a bucket, & done a backblade. Never tried a pickup, but all this stuff just piles it up & makes it worse later. The blower moves it out of the way.

It sounds like the guy is in a drift-free zone, so like I said below, go for the truck if he doesn't use the tractor for anything else.
