I am researching a scene for a novel. Two of my characters are set the task of removing a tractor engine - it's going to be used to power a winch on a salvage vessel. Can anyone provide me with a few general pointers as to the stages you go through when removing a tractor engine? What are the major components that have to be disconnected, and how long might the task take two men who have no real experience. Finally, is there anything nasty in the procedure that could cause them a problem-solving headache - parts difficult to access, certain bolts particularly tight, or requiring specilist tools? They are carrying out the work in a scrap yard in winter. Any help/thoughts much appreciated. best wishes
