Almost 10 years ago now, I was a remodeler. Had a job at a local JCPenneys store. My friend, who authorized the work, as he was a manager there, said to accept credit, or else wait 6 weeks for a check. OK fine, thought it would be a good selling point for other customers. Found a real good rate, 1.5 I believe-BUT-there was a $32 minimum per month charge. NEVER came close to using it enough to justify the monthly charge. Also, had to buy the equipment ($100, if I remember right), had to scan the card 'live' to get that rate-which meant I had to be plugged into a phone line at the scan (or else pay 5%), etc. Was the second worst business decision I ever made-first was thinkin I should go into business in the first place!
