Go ahead. Make sure your 3 pt can't hit the tires when towing and the log or logs are secured so they can't hit the tires either. For short distances it will work fine, gets the end off the ground and keeps the centre of gravity down so the log doesn't swing the tractor and you. Watch the sidehills and good luck.
