Buying steel or anything else right now, is best done by calling for pricing from several different suppliers. Some suppliers have moved volume from last year's peak prices and now have in stock lower cost materials. Other suppliers are still trying to move the high price stuff without taking too big of a hit. Recently I've priced the same stainless tubing from the same manufacturer (American) from 2 different regional suppliers and sometimes have seen as much as $4.00 to $12.00 per foot price difference.
