Dean's approach or one like it should tell you what needs fixing the worst.

20W-50 oil and a bunch of fresh plugs will be a lot cheaper than an overhaul if you're only using it lightly.

The 9N I grew up around did lighter work year around for about 15 years and we sort of band-aided it. If you idled a lot or did really light work you could alway count on #4 plug to get oil fouled after an hour or so. We'd then clean the plug or stick in a fresh one and go on with things.

On the other hand given the propensity of yuppies to pay big bucks for those things, especially if they're redone correctly, you might not be that much out if you have the engine gone through. When I say that I'm assuming the rest of the tractor looks okay and that the hydraulics doesn't need a refresh.
