Martin and Dave gave good advice, but there's a contradiction in your original message. You've got good even compression, oil pressure that's in line with most tractors of its type, and a clean exhaust. Why are you sure you need an overhaul? What color is the plug fouling? What is oil consumption measured at the dipstick? What kind of oil do you use? Straight grade oil will thin out badly when it is hot. Do you know the history on this tractor? What was done the last time it was worked on? Maybe you just need hotter plugs and new plug wires. Maybe you need valve guide seals. Maybe you need a new oil pump or pressure release adjusted. Maybe your oil pressure guage is off. I would sure do some checking before spending big money. Finally, how often, how hard, and how much do you use this tractor? If you are lugging this tractor in high temperatures all day, you might not have enough oil pressure. for light occasional use you might be fine for years. Steve
