Have you tried no-till? I've had wonderful luck with this planting alfalfa. I'm west of St Lou about eighty miles. Sod isn't a problem unless there's alot of growth on top of the ground like it hasn't been cut or hayed. Then it's hard to keep your depth correct. I used to plow and disc and field cultivate to kill the sod and smooth it back out but this has worked so good my tillage tools are getting rusty, plus I've saved alot of time and fuel. What kind of seed do you plant, I've had the best luck with Pioneer, good luck getting it done!!
