Hi Lance Just watched your "test" videos (1&2)Don't have any oil dry or cat litter? My mom would have reamed me out for getting that much oil on the floor! Suggestion Why don't you put an in line shut off valve on your "redneck gas tank", so you won't have to wait for all the gas to drain from the tank? Whether a carb is new or old, the reason that it would leak from the seam would seem like the valve isn't closing. My father taught me to check the float when you rebuild it, BEFORE you stick the top back on the body. Hook up your gas supply (w/ shut off valve!)see if the gas stops and starts when you move the float up and down. I like seeing your progress (or regress, since I've pounded a few tires silly myself)so keep trying......it'll get easier........eventually!
