I bought an old bobcat at an auction yesterday and am going to pick it up tomorrow. From a quick internet search today it looks like an M-500 model with a variable speed mechanism and quick-tach bucket. Wisconsin engine, with what appears to be two gas tank filler necks--not sure about that. I paid $1500 for the machine, 2 buckets and 2 extra tires/rims. It felt like a good deal. What do I need to know right off the bat? Is the variable speed lever hydrostatic or variable belt? Where can I get a manual? Can I manufacture a ROPS, or are they commercially available? I appreciate any comments really. Thanks again.
