A mule is a cross between a mare horse and a jack donkey. A Hinny is a cross between a jenny (female) donkey and a stud horse. A Burro (Spanish term), donkey, jackass (slang term) are all the same thing. Donkeys in 3 sizes Miniatures, standard and mammoth but all donkey sizes have donkey "parents" on both sides. Miniature are small for guard animals and the best guard would be the standard size. Not all donkeys make good guard donkeys. Hope this helps.
