I found a website that stated several or many French makers used the British JAP engines.Mercier was not on the list but that does not mean they werent one of them.They also seem to have been a car manufacturer.I found a site with info on French early bikes but Mercier although listed has no info.They seller also has a preteen motorcycle engine for sale.The tail pipe or head pipe from the motor does not look like it would line up with the muffler in the pics.However in the antique pictures there is no muffler just open pipe off head.You sure got my curiousity on this.
