I was at a show last weekend and saw a Long tractor there. First one I've ever seen although I have a tractor book here with one in it. It looks similar to a Farmall M at first glance. Red with green wheels. It has a Continental flathead 4 cylinder motor (162 cubic inches) that were very common at the time in all sorts of applications. This book says their model A was made only in 51 and 52. When I looked at the one at the show, it sure looked like the back half of the chassis (tranny, differential, axles, wheels) were the same as a Cockshutt 30. Of course, from the clutch forward was different and like I said, the sheet metal resembled a Farmall. It was made in Tarborough, North Carolina by Long Manufacturing Inc. Obviously this Long is not an imported tractor. Maybe someone else put the nameplate on something else later.
