About a month ago some of you may remember that I posted a message asking for some advice on my F150 on why it would die while driving along then 5 minutes later it would start back up. Well I narrowed it down. I found when I popped open the engine hood or closed it I could hear the fuel pump kick on (when the key was on of course) I then looked for a pinched wire but what I found was a small loose bolt that had two ground wires on it. The two wires came out of the main harness just behind and above the passenger side headlight. The screw was backed out half way. It was located by the battery on the passenger side close to the negative battery terminal. I jiggled the wires and sure enough I heard the fuel pump turn on. I added a ground wire from the battery's negative post to the other two wires on the bolt. It's been running trouble free ever since.
The ground wires were the ground for the fuel pump relay and I believe the ignition system.
