If that has the original engine, it's probably a Wauk FC, and the FC came with either crank or elec start.
Some of the earliest models came with a Wauk FKJ, and if you have that engine, and it has a place for a starter, it must've had the same option.
There should be a tag on the engine giving model, b/s and serial #. If you're happy with the crank you could just cut a piece of something solid and bolt it on over the hole, using the existing bolt holes for the starter...assuming there're threaded bolt holes there...(be sure the bolts you use aren't so long they hit the flywheel).
If there's no tag, sorry, I don't know the differences in the two engines.
