The N series Ford was way ahead of it's time back 60 years ago. It had neat new features, was affordable & needed for the ecconomic & world conditions, and sold like crazy. It was built for general farm work on smaller farms, and could do it all back then.

In today's world, there are a lot of refinements & improvements on newer tractors, like more gears, live pto, power steering, etc.

But, there were so very, very many N series Fords made, that it is still a standard machine, and parts of all kinds are easy to get. The engine was durable, low-pressured, and easy to service, as the whole tractor is.

So, people really like them, & they live on & on. If you want to bale hay or blow snow, or get into heavier hydraulic work, etc. a tractor with live pto/ better hydraulics should really, really be considered.

But if you just have a few acres & need a small tractor to fool with, the Fords still offer you something. I would say they are actually overpriced these days, people are buying them more on reputation than capibilities, and you can get twice the tractor for the same price - if, in fact, you would need twice the tractor....
