farmall cub distributor

please help,
i recently replaced the carburetor, distributor springs, points and condensor on my cub and it ran great. after sitting a few weeks it would not start unless i pulled it. it then ran well untill i engaged the mower it would then quit. i removed the distributor and played with the weights and it ran great. do you think i should replace the distributor if so where is the best place to get one? what about rebuilding the distributor myself since i only need the shaft and weights?
