it sounds to me that you could have some binding in the shift linkage but i would need more information to make a better diagnosis pull the floor mat up and take the scerw out of the floor plate up and move the shift lever and watch the linkage and check to make sure that there is no obstrucions if that is ok then you are in for major serjorie
