Most slow races have few rules similar to the following: 1. Standard transmissions only 2. Last one which front wheels cross the finish line wins 3. Judges make sure all tractors line up evenly and all start on time. 4. Upon start, clutches must remain engaged and brakes not activated at all. Stopping for any reason is a DQ. 5. No Zig-Zag, all tractors must head straight toward finish line. 6. Tractors must run under normal operation - No starter or pony motor power. These are general rules that I've seen enforced. You may or may not want to enforce exclusion of add-on transmission/gear packs (like Sherman, Howard or aftermarket granny gears) and running with flat or undersize tires. Keep it as simple, keep it fair and keep it fun. You may also want to keep it short so spectators won't fall asleep.
