Depends on what you re advertising. My business is a specialty repair service, so local advertising isn t really a good choice for me. The best local advertising we have is community involvement. People see it when you re out helping others. I have went with basic yellow page adds, and put more into radio. With radio, you have to have a good drive time slot. My theory is if people hear my add, when they open the phone book or go online, they see my name and say "hey, I remember hearing about those guys."
If selling something, I would agree Craigslist is a good choice. How many of us hop on and at least browse thru craigslist, when we re looking for something...
