Of all the Walmarts within 100 miles or so, only one carries the Wrangler jeans I like. And that's by no means the closest one. The tag reads "Made in Honduras of U.S. material", so I guess the U.S. does participate in them.
Shopko used to carry them, but I don't see them anymore there. The gal in charge of the Walmart men's clothing dept. says whenever she orders these particular jeans, Walmart's marketing people hassle her and try to talk her into ordering some other jeans they think kids will buy. She says she tells them to look at her past sales and see how many pair of these jeans she sells compared to the ones they want her to sell.
She also said if it comes to it, she can always special order some for her customers that buy them.
