Mike , I read a book on hydraulics.This is what it said. Hydraulic oil is nothing more than 10WT motor oil which is being used in the hydraulic system. Hydralic fluid is 10WT motor oil with additives and conditioners in it. These additives and conditioners are good for the hydraulic system. After adding the additives and conditioners , the name "OIL" is changed to "FLUID". You will want universal hydraulic fluid for your hydraulics. If being used in the transmission , make sure you get universal transmission hydraulic oil. This should get you going again. Scott
