Well, you weren't reprimanded by EVERYONE, but then again I guess I didn't jump into the fray to defend you either.... I've been putting electrons into my 8 volt units with a 12 volt charger on the "trickle" setting for years, and I agree with you. I fully understand that since I've posted this, you and I will BOTH likely be staked out to anthills and made to recite a pledge to NEVER boost a battery with more than 3 volts above its rated voltage. Common sense doesn't always work, but it appears pretty safe to me when the ammeter on the charger only goes to about 5 amps doing this. I also agree with you that it's about as "safe as anything else done with a battery!"
