HELP, HELP, HELP! TRYING TO INSTALL PTO IN CASE 420B, CAN'T FIGURE HOW TO REMOVE MAIN SHAFT PLUG

I'm trying to install a PTO in a CASE 420B that didn't originally have one. I have the shift lever cover and rockshaft housing off. At the back of the main shaft, there looks to be a steel plug at the rear mainshaft bearing. The PTO shaft needs to pass through this and I can't see how to remove it. This plug spins with the main shaft.

The donor tractor is open at the same point and the PTO shaft passes through the casing and through the hollow main shaft.

I looked at the parts list and pictures on my CASE CD-ROM parts manual, but it isn't very descriptive.

I was hoping to do this without breaking apart the gearcases.

Anyone know what to do?
