Never could see how keeping GM afloat will save jobs people are still going to buy as many cars with or without GM. So if there is no GM they will be buying more Fords or Chryslers. Hence all the workers who lost there GM jobs will get hired by Ford etc. Idle GM plants will be brought back by the other manufacturers. Everyone will still have a job but different signature on you pay check. But that was then and this is now. Now that we have invested so much to keep them afloat maybe we can't let them fail now. I don't know.

Today's Featured Article - Show Coverage: Argyle and Mt. Pleasant Labor Day Weekend Shows - by Cindy Ladage. The last fling before summer fades into fall and we get busy in the fields are the annual Labor Day tractor shows. Beginning on September 5th and running through the 7th, the Argyle Antique Gas and Engine Show is held at the Argyle State Park. Located in West Central Illinois, the pine forest was the setting for the opening of the 22nd show.
