Have the codes checked. if its an 01 or 02 you can check them by turning the key on off on off on fairly quickly and it will show the "P" codes in the odometer window. Not to say it isnt a cam or crank sensor but ill just about bet you find a P0215 or P0216 or a P1698 theres a couple others too but i bet your VP-44 just bit the dirt.:( assuming its newer than a 98.5
