I have been using a Honda (4514)14 hp for about 7 years now to mow 3-4 acres without a single problem. Some of the things that sold me on it was the honda motor, liquid cooled, spin on oil filter, and hydrostatic transmission. Its quiet, runs smooth, dependable, fuel effecient, and cuts excellent. Not cheap though. Most everyone I know that has deeres love them. My brother just purchased a 325gt deere which I have used and like. Don't overlook the dealer you buy from. There are some dealers that I wouldn't buy spark plugs from. If you buy an expensive tractor it will most likely last a long time. If you go the cheaper brand route, you won't have as much money tied up and you could buy a couple replacements for the cost of the expensive ones.
