The 2nd amendment was written for the porpose to protect citzens from a goverement in tyrany.
It is our most important right it is the right that insures we will remain free.
1st amendment does not matter if the 2nd is not there. Just ask the Russians.
So to say that it only counts with flint locks. If all we had avalible was flint locks how could we over throw a tyrany with that?
As for the right to protect our selves and property. That has always been there. Not sure if thats spacificly guaranteed by the 2nd amandment of is its was always just assumed you could protect your self.
