J.C. Whitney catalogs 24v to 12v convertors with 4 amp rating. Probably similar available at Northern and other outlets.

If you need more current, there are numerous inexpensive solid state regulators with ratings up to 10 amps available through places like Radio Shack. They are chaeap enough to use one for each place you need the voltage converted.

Lamps in series as suggested in the earlier posts will work, but can produce uneven brightness as well as the disadvantages already mentioned. Workable, but not the best long term solution.
