I did a pretty serious cost study on my F-350 which pulls a goose neck. Counting all expenses, including expensive commercial insurance, and diesel fuel at $2.25 per gallon, it costs me about .78 per mile at 6000 miles per month. As the miles increase, the cost decreases somewhat. I include the cost of a driver in that figure. When I bid on a job, I figure that I need to add a profit to that , and I realize that it costs me to get that truck home as well.
