I am 51, retired railroad engineer, last minimum wage job I had was 34 years ago and I have $375,000 cash to invest in land, home, and improvements. Perhaps that clears the waters a little. To some folks....I am almost poor, to others, comfortably well off...depends on if you live in Beverly Hills or Mozambique.
As for the residents of the Ozarks.....I am sure they have nothing on those of us from the Appalachians. I 'spect I'd fit right in and nobody would notice the difference...not even the way I talk.
