by any chance did the conection rod from ur ignition cylinder to the switch happen to be replaced a while before ur prob....
this seems to be common in the f 150's ive had, any ways if the wireing harness in the colum wasnt replaced corectly it will chaff and cause shorts, i lost my running lights, replaced a fuse and it may go a few days or a few minutes. Another thing is there is a switch on ur brake pedal that can be ajusted to cut out the cruise. Just a couple suggestions, wasnt real sure what the whole prob is
