That guy must hate Fords or was pullin' your leg. My 8N hitched to a 5' BushHog brand model 12 is an excellent match up. The ORC is $40-60 at farm supply stores and prevents the mower from pushing the tractor when slowing down. It is about 4" in diameter, slips onto the PTO shaft and is vital for this operation (as per Dell our self-appointed safety preacher). A slip clutch is not usually necessary because the driveshaft uses a soft bolt as shear pin when an obstruction is hit. The 8N was specifically designed as a utility tractor (low C.G., wide front end) to do this type of work. It sacrificed the ability to cultivate to arrive at this compromise.
