I went through a similar experience and was glad in hind sight that I was candid about it. Employers are often interested in how you handle adversity as they are about your other personal characteristics. Compared to a generation ago, I think most HR people are interested to see how you stack up as a human being. It's not so much about the conflict as it is as far as dealing and learning from it. I've seen over and over where somebody who had a fantastic skill set had to be let go because they could not figure out how to get along with co-workers or customers.
