I own 10.5 acers in mid Mich. Plant about 8acers of corn and 4 acers of pumpkins and a big garden every year.( I use a little of the neighbors ground) Raise about 10 Decons a year and take them up to about 1500# and sell them to my custermers for freezer beef. I have a year round self serve stand where I sell bagged shelled and ear corn and straw. In the fall I sell my pumkins and other fall decorations in my stand out front and give free hay rides. I haul in about 1500 bales of straw and about a 1000 more bu. of corn I buy from my farming friends along with a little hay. I've driven truck for 59.9 hours a week for a freight carrier for the last 34 years. Quess I would call myself a truck driver and a half--- farmer on the side. I've always wanted to be a REAL farmer but I guess I just like having the money in my pocket that the truck driving job provides.
